Brecht Machiels is an independent engineering consultant. He holds a PhD degree in electrical engineering, but is also fascinated by the softer side of computers. Having learned to program in C, C++ and Python in his free time, he is now applying these skills as a freelancer. At the moment he is exploring the world of data science using Python. His current side-project, RinohType, is his most ambituous one so far. He secretly hopes it will some day replace LaTeX as the de-facto standard for typesetting of technical documents.
