Mathew is a senior researcher in Marine Renewable Energy from Tecnalia Research and Innovation located in Bilbao, in the Basque Country of Spain. He has been working in marine energy for 10 years, starting research into the topic of tidal power generation as part of his Master of Mathematics thesis. He continued with this topic for the subject of his PhD and later for work both in Academia and in Industy. His latest position is supported by the European Union's Marie Curie actions programme.
Mathew has a strong interest in scientific computing and during his academic career he has developed numerical models in languages such as FORTRAN, MATLAB and Python. He has also developed simulations using commercial CFD and environmental resource modelling software, both commercial and open source.
